There has been a lot of negativity on social media nowadays. Unsure if it’s political season heating up or everyone is cranky as we wait for the end of the school year but the vibe out there is strained to say the least. So what do you do when life gives you lemons? You make a stand, at least according to Vivienne Harr, an 11 year old who is changing the world.
Watch to understand how Vivienne, at 8 years old, began changing the world, one cup of lemonade at a time
Phew. I know right? Tears. Everytime I watch this video I think “I can do better.’
I was fortunate to meet Vivienne at the 2015 Disney Social Media Moms conference, in Walt Disney World. Her honesty and simple -yet powerful- question “why not?” inspired us all.
Unfortunately my children didn’t get to see or meet Vivi (we’re buds now so I can call her Vivi). So I was delighted when her team sent me a copy of her book. (which of course makes me want to remind my kids to get off games and do something…like write a book, or change the world, as long as they still get good grades and go to bed on time!). The book made me tear up all over again. This is a must on the summer reading list for adults and children! It will make your family look at the world differently!
So starting today I plan on standing with Vivienne…won’t you join me?

***Disclaimer – I did attend Disney Social Media Moms conference at a discounted rate and did receive free items during the event including park tickets, meals and cool goodies from sponsers, but the opinons on this blog are my own. Additionally I did receive a free copy of Make a Stand from the publisher Chocolate Sauce (cutest name of a pulishing company ever!)but was not obligate to blog about the book.
